The Scheme has contracted with LifeSense Disease Management to manage the HIV/AIDS
Programme. How to register on the programme: o Contact LifeSense Disease Management on 0860 50 60 80. o A member of the Scheme can go to any Doctor of choice for the initial examination. o The Doctor will complete the application form in co-operation with the member and forward the
form and results of any blood tests to LifeSense. o A treatment plan, based on the above information, will have to be approved by the Medical
Advisor of LifeSense. o The member's Doctor will be contacted and advised what medication options are available, taking
into consideration the stage of the disease.
How to utilise the HIV/AIDS Programme: o Once the member is enrolled on the programme, the chosen Doctor will be contacted on a regular
basis by the Case Manager on behalf of LifeSense.
o Assistance will be provided to support and reinforce the importance of the correct utilisation of
the authorised medication. o The member will also be assisted with lifestyle adjustments and counselling.
Benefits: o The HIV/AIDS benefits are 100% of the NHRPL, provided that the member is enrolled on the
management programme. o In order to qualify for the above benefits, the following conditions will apply:
-LifeSense will authorise anti-retroviral medication to be provided by a DSP.
-Blood tests - a maximum of 3 HIV/AIDS monitoring pathology tests per year.
-Blood tests must be done at the request of the LifeSense Case Manager.
